The Glorious Ordinary

…but I think miracles–big miracles, like raising the dead, are rare. I think God prefers to work through ordinary people and the ordinary daily grind. This is why there are no small people in God’s kingdom and no small lives. In 1 Corinthians 10:31, Paul the Apostle says that whether you eat, or whether you drink or whatever you do [dishes, homework, digging ditches, playing softball, grabbing Starbucks], do all to the glory of God. This lays the foundation for the glorious ordinary. Ephesians 3:10 says that God is manifesting his wisdom to the “rulers and authorities in the heavenly places” through the church! Really?? Yep. Through our collective journey towards being more like Christ, however slowly and awkwardly. So, whatever ordinary thing you’re doing right now, dedicate yourself to glorifying God in it!
